I prefer salt and pepper grinders to shakers, and I had a non-electric pair for a time. But when cooking, it would require two hands to grind with them. And somtimes I wouldn't have two available hands when stirring, etc. And the grounds were not consistent - large pieces of pepper and tiny pieces of pepper were the result. I found myself annoyed every time I used them.

Anyway, I love these. They work like a charm - they grind very fine, with very consistent results, and are easy to use with one hand - lightweight and they only require a press of a button. Who knew a simple kitchen tool could make me so happy?

I'm so happy to find a rechargeable salt and pepper shaker, I just can't get my hands to twist a manual one. These are great! My hands didn't cramp and I tasted fresh pepper, which to me was worth every penny.

Grinds peppercorns faster than I can with a hand grinder. Good for people with arthritis in their hands. I have it on the finest setting and even though some of the flakes look fairly large (to me), they are shaved thin so there are no chunks into which one might crunch. Nice size. Recharges easily.
